Dear Special Care Unit,
I want to thank you all so much for the care you provided to my mom, Ethel Gerbus, during the year and a half she was with you. Every one of the staff, from custodians and kitchen servers to the nursing staff, was wonderful. I know she was difficult some times – she really wasn’t herself – but you were all unfailingly generous with your care. Some of you spent more time with her than others, and I’m afraid if I start naming names I’ll leave someone special out. But you all work as a team, and my gratitude goes to all of you. Please use this for something that benefits all of you. Or, as the very least, parties for all shifts!

Dear Ardy and Staff,

Please forgive my delay in giving thanks for the wonderful and loving care you all gave our mother, Frances. Today, Oct 9th would have been Frances’ 94th birthday. Not only would it have been her birthday, but it is Tuesday and I was always at the Villa on Tuesday & Fridays. I do miss you all! Ken & I are still having a hard time getting over the fact that mother is no longer with us, but are thankful for you all at the Villa. Don’t forget to save Ken & I a room. There is no place we would rather be than at Villa Scalabrini. Love you, Love you, Love you!

Dear Villa Scalabrini, Safe Care Unit and Special Care Unit,

I wanted to take a moment to say “Thank you” for seven and a half years of kindness and love you all gave my Aunt Mary! Her final years were lived out in safety and comfort. The entire staff at Villa Scalabrini does a phenomenal job with these patients every day. All of you are angels! God bless each of you and thank you for all your loving support!
